Serbia launches transparent portal for its technical government

Serbia has been governed by a technical cabinet since September 9, 2026, after the regular political administration stepped aside. Two days ago, the non‑governmental organization Transparentnost Srbija launched a dedicated portal – http://www.tehnickavlada.rs – that aims to make the workings of this interim government fully visible to the public.

The website aggregates all official decisions taken by the technical government and its ministries, presenting them in a searchable format. Each entry is accompanied by a risk rating that has been examined and verified by Transparentnost’s own team of analysts. According to the organization, the risk assessments are intended to highlight potential irregularities in public resource allocation, contract awards, public procurement processes and personnel appointments.

In an interview for N1’s morning program “Novi dan,” Transparentnost Srbija spokesperson Zlatko Minić explained that the portal is part of a broader effort to counter the opacity that often surrounds technocratic rule. “When a government is formed without a parliamentary majority, it is even more important that citizens can see exactly how public funds are being spent and which policies are being implemented,” Minić said. He added that the platform will be continuously updated as new decisions are published in the official gazette.

The launch comes at a time when the technical government faces scrutiny over its handling of public finances and the speed of reforms promised during the transition. By providing a single point of access to official documents, the portal seeks to enable journalists, civil‑society groups and ordinary citizens to perform independent oversight.

Transparentnost Srbija has called on other NGOs and academic institutions to use the data for further analysis and to submit any concerns about identified risks to the appropriate oversight bodies. The organization also plans to publish periodic reports summarising the most critical findings from the portal’s risk assessments.

While the technical government has not commented publicly on the new website, its establishment signals a willingness to accommodate civil‑society monitoring mechanisms. Observers note that the success of the portal will depend on the completeness of the data uploaded by ministries and the responsiveness of the government to identified risks.

The initiative marks a notable development in Serbia’s political landscape, offering a concrete tool for transparency at a moment when traditional party politics are on pause. As the technical cabinet continues its mandate, http://www.tehnickavlada.rs will likely become a reference point for assessing the interim administration’s accountability.
